About me

I’ve been working as an accent coach for the past 20 years, and I absolutely love it. I am currently in production as Acting and Dialogue Coach on the upcoming bilingual HBO series Cuando Nadie Nos Ve, and was recently coaching on the production “The Man Who Fell to Earth”, working with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Naomie Harris, and Clarke Peters, among others.

I got into this job utterly by accident, when my fellow actors began asking me for help with RP and Australian for a play we were in. I began investigating anatomy, neuroscience, linguistics, and I became very curious about how to accurately describe what to do to make specific sounds, and how to help someone develop their ear for accents in general.

We’ll look at:

Long story short, 19 years, 6 countries, and hundreds of actors later, I am still very much as fascinated as I was when I began, and I continue to grow and develop as a teacher. Every single person I work with is unique, and I love the adventure of helping someone gain confidence and open up further casting opportunities. This industry is tough, and being confident in a few different accents makes a world of difference.

I laugh a lot, and if you’re looking for a serious business-like teacher, I’m probably not the right fit, and that’s totally ok! I like to have fun, and my classes and teaching style reflect that.

Accent Coaching options

One to one accent coaching for actors

DUE TO MY CURRENT PRODUCTION SCHEDULE, I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY INDIVIDUAL REGULAR CLIENTS UNTIL JUNE 2024. APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

IF YOU HAVE AN AUDITION OR ARE PREPARING FOR A ROLE, RECORDED FEEDBACK IS A GREAT OPTION FOR YOU!

Your class:

• One hour or 30 mins of one to one coaching in person or via video call to prepare an accent for a tape, auditions, or a role, which you’re welcome to record for personal use only. Please send scripts in advance, or if it’s for an improv, let me know when booking! For general accent training, I recommend the Accent Challenge before any one to one work.

Price: I work on a sliding scale. So essentially, you set your price. I start at a €45/hr minimum for students, and I work up to €120/hr. Most people find that something in the €45-70/hr range is a comfortable investment, but as I said, I am happy with whatever is right for you. The good thing about video calls is that one hour is really only an hour, so I don't have to worry about covering travel or space rentals etc, and this helps me be able to balance out pricing so I can work with people in each stage of their careers, and not just the ones already raking it in!

The Accent Re-shape: For speakers of English as a non-native language.

If you are a non-native English speaker and you want to gain fluidity, soften your accent to be easily understood, and improve your English pronunciation overall, this €200 package is for you.

1. You send me a recording of you reading, and another of you speaking in English without reading.

2. I analyse your speech, and make a plan of exercises and materials specifically for you.

3. We have a 1.5 hour session via zoom, during which I take you through all your areas for improvement, as well as work through all the exercises. In just an hour and a half, your pronunciation will dramatically improve, and you’ll have all the tools you need to continue improving from there on.

4. After the session, you’ll receive an audio recap of every sound as well as examples of any intonation, rhythm, word connection issues that need work.

5. After two weeks, you’ll send me another recording of both reading and speaking, as in the beginning.

6. I get back to you with further feedback via recorded video, of what improved, what still needs work, and your next steps.

Recorded feedback for actors- accents, pronunciation

You send me a copy of your text and a recording of you reading/performing it in the accent you’re working on. I’ll get back to you with a short recorded video, explaining some of the work you can do to improve, as well as written feedback and a markup of any changes on your text.

Price: €15 fixed rate.
